The winter weather we've been having lately has been ridiculous. And by that, I mean ridiculously
beautiful. Apart from a few cloudy days here and there, the past couple of weeks have been sunny and warm (for winter). Today was 23 degrees and while I'm usually one who's happy mooching around at home while the sun's out, I felt like it was just too good to waste. I had an urge to eat chips by the beach, so I drove to La Perouse (which I have blogged about
before), to do just that. I did get my chips, but I ate them in the car, because I was afraid of the seagulls (don't even laugh, they are merciless).

I was all nautical-ed up for being by the seaside.

I found myself a rock ledge to sit on after all the exploring.

I sat there for ages and it was so nice, with the sun on my back and being lulled by the sound of the sea (it doesn't work for sleeping though, I downloaded an app with crashing waves to help me sleep and it sounded like people stamping in puddles around my head, very distracting).
I filmed some clips with my phone, so here's a 30 second video.

Striped top is from Uniqlo, tote bag is from
The Evolution Store, watch c/o
Daniel Wellington, loafers from Bass.

The look of pure evil.
Oh wow, this looks absolutely wonderful--so tranquil. I would love to live by the sea and take day trips like this. Seems like the perfect place for reading or napping, and wearing stripes of course! :-)

ReplyDeleteI'll add links to the post but my bag is from the Evolution store, my top is from Uniqlo and shoes are from Bass :)
DeleteThank you Jane!xx
DeleteThis looks like such a peaceful place, perfect chip munching setting. Nice to get away from any built up areas and take time out to recharge and wind down. I enjoy being on my own in places like this.
ReplyDeleteIt was really nice being on my own there, I think I'll have to do this more often especially when uni starts again.
DeleteGreat shots too btw, I sand looks so squeezable
ReplyDeleteJANE! I used to be fleshandcolours but now I have my new blog here: http://jessicatekin.blogspot.com.au . I've missed reading your blog heaps, I have to go back through your posts and figure out what I've missed out on :)
ReplyDeleteToday's 21 degrees in Melbourne, and while there's storms on their way, this winter's weather has been ridiculously gorgeous.
How funny!
ReplyDeleteI was there on the weekend and took some VERY similar shots :)
Such a beautiful set of photographs, i love the colours and light :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Jane! Sounds lucky about your winter, wish we could get some of that weather here! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been loving the weather! The beach looks amazing (honestly though. I should really go there).
ReplyDeleteI swear seagulls are secretly the devil reincarnated.
re seagulls: SO TRUE
DeleteOh what a happy post. This makes me want to go down to the beach this instant. Too bad it's at least 3 hours away :(
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a relaxing thing to do! I wish it were that convenient for me to visit the seaside on a regular basis, but I guess eating plain old fish and chips at home (kind of) has the same effect... nevertheless, I really need to visit this spot someday!
ReplyDeleteI want to run away to Australia...right now. The weather has been 37 C here and absolutely unforgivable.
ReplyDelete37C is horrid! That would be worse than the cold.
DeleteAww, looks so beautiful.. And I must say I'm quite envious about the degrees; during winter we can have as low as -35 celcius (or less!) Brrr.. :D
ReplyDelete. indie by heart .

These are seriously some pretty spectacular snapshots! The scenery has me aching for some quality outdoor time. Too bad there's an unwelcoming heatwave that's got me resenting the sun. Cooler weather is only 4 months away! Hah ;)
