New wheels

Presenting my new baby, this bicycle my dad got me as a birthday present. I think he was more enthusiastic about getting me a bike than I was about wanting it - and I love it lots. It's from Reid Cycles, which I think does the cheapest vintage-style bike around here. It's a beautiful dark green (less blue than in this picture), such a good bicycle colour (in my opinion).

Currently I'm not using it to commute anywhere, so it's just going to be my corner store/post office/lunch run transport. I did take it out for a leisurely cycle down the beach yesterday, but I took a load of photos from that so it'll be a whole other post!

  3. It's beautiful! Your dad picked a great gift. All you need are some flowers in the front basket and you could be in a k-drama montage.

  6. aww man, I'm so jealous, I wouldn't have anywhere to go if I had a bike, my area is too hilly, like ridiculous steep. :'( But I'm sure you'll take lots of photos with this bike. Its such a great 21st birthday present!

  8. Your bike is so cute! I've been wanting a bike for a while, but the area I live in is not bike friendly at all. Too many cars ._.! I'm also afraid because my friend got hit by a car while he was on his bike in L.A. I wonder if I still remember how to ride XD;

  9. That's such a beautiful bike! I'd totally ride mine around more often if my area was bike-friendly, but I'm a bit paranoid because my dad's been in accident before. Being able to cycle down to the beach sounds amazing, though!

  17. NO WAY. I just bought a bike like that off eBay today, and I paid $230 for it SECOND HAND. If only I had waited until today! I had no idea that you could get a new vintagey looking bike for that cheap! Oh well, the one I got is super cute and is named Thelma. LOVE your bike!

  20. It's so beautiful! I'm in the market for a vintage style bike at the minute so I'll have to check out their website. Are they a UK based company? It seems everyone at my university has one and I'm really going to need a bike next year when I live further away from university!

    1. They're an Australian company unfortunately! But I reckon there must be some affordable ones targeted towards uni students over there as well.
